Simple guide to scratch removal for a newby?

Hi all,

This is my first post here and I'd like to know how to repair the scratches on my paint.

I've read the Autopia's guide, but not everything is quite clear for me.

Firstly, I'm Lithuanian and I don't think I will find these exact products you guys use in the US. I could get products like 'Turtle Wax', 'Sonax' etc. So, could you let me know what general type of chemicals should I use. Here are the process I imagine need to be done to fix the scratches:

1. For example I have a scratch where primer is visible. I used a touch-up paint, let it dry, and then applied a clearcoat. Now the scratch looks ugly - the surface is raised and not shiny.

2. I presume the second step is sanding, right? What grit paper should I use? should I use some kind of special automotive sanding paper, or a regular sanding paper will do? Should I sand wet or dry?

3. When the sanding is complete and the surface is smooth, what is the next step? Should I use some special chemical in this stage? I really don't imagine what to do after sanding?

4. I presume the last step is polishing with wax? Can I use some regular waxes like 'Turtle Wax Car Wax":
