Simple Green?

Who uses it, what do you use it for, does it work well and is it safe for all surface (Paint, wheel wells, carpet ect.).

I use it and use it alot. Too many places to mention. I dillute it depending upon the surface requirement. It works great on raised white letters, underhood and under chasis. One place I would caution it's use is on non-coated aluminum surfaces. I buy this stuff in 5 gallon containers (automotive strength) and that's just for personal use. I know a lot of people don't like it but I'm not one of them.

Wheel wells and motors, I also use it on areas that have tough stains but you really have to be carefull its strong!!

I wonldn't Alloy stains real easy, I've even had some wheel cleaners do a number on them. That's if they are not clear coated.

SG is a strong degreaser and should be used with cautaion big time!!

409 is good and SG is also but I would dilute them with water in a seprate spray bottle. Some where along a 50/50 to see how that works. Always try an area before reall y getting into it. Also never spray direct always on to a towel then wipe, can save a lot of headaches

409? Are you serious? I was thinking more like something along the lines of Megs APC+ that can be found locally. I saw a few at Wally World (Castrol, Purlpe something, Some citrus thing, greased Lightening). Anyone use any of these? Carpet, mats, wheel wells ect

IMO, Meg's APC+ would be an excellent choice. I use it for mats, carpet, cloth upholstery, vinyl, tires, wheelwells, engine compartment. Meguiar's has several suggested dilution ratios and you probably should follow their instructions. But...., just in case you decide to want to make things easier for yourself, I have been mixing it 10:1 for a year or so and using it for everything. Works for me.

I've been using Simple Green for wheels, wheel wells, engine, and chasis and it works great. I'm running low so I went to Walmart last night and bought a gallon of "Purple Power" because it was the cheapest. I'll let you know how I like it.

I use SG mainly for engine bays, and I am like Beemerboy and use 409 as well. 409 is great stuff for interior vinyl surfaces, best part of it, no dilluting.

But you cant get it locally here
Surely you have an auto supply, preferably an auto body supply store in your area. Any Meguiar's dealer can order and get the APC+. My local Jocko's Auto Parts has a very limited stock of the Professional and no Detailer products, but they can order any of them and have them in just a couple of days.

Hey, this is in Ankeny, Iowa. If I can get it here, it has to be available just about anywhere in the continental U.S.

Thanks Charles. I willtry a couple of local places and see if they can order it.

I saw simply green at a store today and I remembered you guys talking about it. My cars interior is light tan. On some areas the seats are starting to look brownish/darkgray. (best way i could describe it) Also my carpet is looking a bit dark in some areas.

Could simple green clean my dirty seats?
Can I just use simple green on it out of the bottle or should I dilute it?

purple stuff works well for me thinking about trying simple green out, so all of you think i need to dulute SG for minor cleaning?
