similar OTC options for....

Some Meg's polishes (e.g., #9) are very mild and are available OTC. They have fillers/oils though, which the FP doesn't.

I'd go to the local autobody/paint supply store and see what they have. My local one still has the 3M PI-III MG (05937) that I like so much and they could order something that'll suit your needs if they don't have anything in stock.

If the ol' 05937 is extinct in your area, I think the new VOC complaint 3m Perfect It 3000 polishes ought to do nicely.

3M PerfectIT line would do well.

The only thing by hand worth noting would be Meg's Scratch X, followed by a glaze.

3M also used to have a hand glaze that worked great, but the Meg's Deep Crystal #2 glaze is easier to use.

Doc Holiday- That PI-II FCRC is an OK substitute for PI-III RC (05933) but it's a bit harsh for what I think dtailmycar is after.

mblgjr- The Deep Crystal #2 and the 3M IHG are nonabrasive, so I'm not sure those would fit the bill either. That Scratch-X is a great OTC idea, somehow I never seem to think of it. Color-X might be another option, IIRC it has some very fine diminishing abrasives in it too.

Bill D- After finding the PI-3K RC to be significantly different from the 05933 I've been leery of trying the PI-3K SMR in place of 05937 so I hesitate to recommend it (with no first-hand experience). You know how I am about sticking with known quantities :o
