SILVERSTARS and night driving?

I hated my Silverstars. They were the most overhyped lights I've ever bought. They lasted less than 6 months and put out less real light than my stock bulbs.

Silverstars are one of those "don't believe everything you read on the internet" things.

I think any bulb (except maybe yellow) will be poor on wet roads. So much of the light gets reflected by the water molecules on the road surface, regardless of the color of light. The light that does get through to the pavement is much less than would be there in dry conditions.

I've had my silverstars for about a year I think. You could do a search for Silverstar on here and probably find the date when I posted a comparison of them vs my stock bulbs (one bulb replaced, one left as is) if you really want to know. Both are still working and looking great thus far. I'll probably get a set of the Osrams after these go out though.

Hey guys, Long time no see :D

Anyway, I've gone through 2 pairs of Silverstars in less than 1.5 years. I cant speak for the Osram, but the regular Sylvania units do not last. And also they do provide very poor

visibility for rain driving. Otherwise though, if you can get over those lil humps, then

you should have no problem; as they do provide very impressive visibility in almost

all other conditons.

Lately Ive been using the HELA's, and I do like them, but I am thinking that I will

try the Osram units before the end of this year.

Ive not read all of this, but I LOVE my silver stars. I put them in the stock headlights then put some 65watt regular bulbs(stock were 55watt) in the foglights. With my two 55watt after market Hella driving lights, 65watt fogs, and 55watt silver star headlights, I can see for miles. :cooleek:

Ive been using Silverstars for years and years now.. out of 3 cars and several years use Ive only had to replace 1 set. I really like them a lot and will continue to use them.
