Are there any waxes that are better for silver paint? I know a lot of waxes bring out the depth of darker paints, but I was wondering if there is a difference. My truck is only 4 months old,and I don't believe I need to use a :waxing: machine

Thanks,

I like S100 on silver. It doesn't darken the color and it really shows off the metallic flakes in the paint. Meg #16 doesn't bring out the flakes as well but it gives it a warmer glow.

This is another personal preference thing and note that all silvers are not the same.

My fave is 1z Pro MP topped with UPP, but my wife's fave on the same paint is Souveran, and a number of Autopians prefer Zaino or KSG on the same paint! Very different looks but everybody has their druthers.

FWIW, I found that BF darkens silver quite a bit (noticeable when you compare side-by-side with another car having the same paint), UPP less so but still a little. Both gave me decent depth, a lot more than some other products, but it was the prep that really made the difference, even on pretty new vehicles. Most people don't see the little flaws that detract from silver's overall appearance- that's the blessing and the curse of that color.

Alot of good choices, cant go wrong with any of them.

I suggest UPP. Everyone should experience the slickness of UPP, and it looks very good also.

My fav for Silver is UPP. My Magnesium Metalic is exceptionally bright and flakes-a-popping.

I've tried AIO topped with EX-P and have also done WG. The AIO/EX-P is very nice, but not near as slick and flake-a-popping as UPP. The WG, IMHO, is better on darker cars as it glosses the finish - it produced a deep, nice finish but not nearly as much flake popping.

On the two silver cars I regularly detail both fairly light bright silvers

Carlack 68/AIO or AG SRP topped with 1Z Glanz wax is my fave, Deep wet gloss with lots off flake pop. This has been my go to on Silver for ages now

Out of it as off last week so UPP next to see.

I love Zaino on my silver car and on my girlfriends champagne colored infinity. It looks great and is always wet looking, plus you cannot beat the protection.

The Zaino process is a long one, in my opinion, because you have to prep the paint, use ZFX(that means at least 2 coats) and also use z6 in between coats for best results.

I am sure that there are products that require far less work (Klasse, UPP, P21S, ...) and will give you almost the same results

Here is a pic of 3 coats of Zaino Z2 pro, with z6 in between, an dtopped with z8.
