I have just picked up a 1995 Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec. The car is very clean for its age and no real mars at all, no swirls although i suspec that any marks were taken out buy the garage i bought the car from.I have been using various items to clean it today. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worst and i couldnt complete my cleaning duties. I need to know what to use as a top coat, im thinking vanilla moose or EXP. I have some EXP on its way so im hoping that this would work well on the car...Opinions please--im quite new to this forum, so take it easy...lol...

Vanilla moose has cleaners in it, and would not be suitable for a topper. You could apply VM under EX-P, which gives you a very clear and wet look.
If you want a warm look, I would go with PwC and EX-P.

Wow, sick car! Good luck with it. Gonna drift it? Anyway, I still love Collinites Insulator Wax as a topper. See my thread on the A4 Detail I just posted for a sample.

NICEEEE CAR. my friend was telling me that skylines in japan are like civics here... very sweet ride, i saw an orange one on the road the other day. very nice. is that legal around your area?

I use VM under EX-P for my TL. Very nice and clear. I wouldn't call it deep. I would describe it as more of a salad oil type look. Shiny like Zaino but with more depth than Zaino.

Here's a sample pic of VM + EX-P on my silver TL:

Very nice car. Is it a right, or left hand drive? How about posting a few pics that show the whole car?

I think most people at this forum will tell you not to use a sealant over a topper. VM being the topper and EX-P being the sealant. Use them in the opposite order. Sealant (EX-P) first, then topper (VM) second.

Umm... I have to disagree with you on that.

VM is not a topper. It's a glaze. It's used to fill in spider webs and remove oxidation. Clearkote themselves promotes VM as a glaze to use under their own Moose Wax.

VM will give you a nice, smooth, glossy surface which you can then seal with EX-P.

I just got an order from Scott at Specialty and finally got a chance to use both VM and EX-P. I put the EX-P over the VM and then rushed for my sunglasses. Best combination I've seen so far on my silver Lexus.

Here is a pic of my last car, always kept in top condition mostly with maguires products.I sold it a week ago and it won 2 trophys for the new owner at the weekend--just my luck.

Skyline latest pics.

Got my car back from getting the gearbox rebuild-which took 6 weeks. Cars was full of dust and wasnt very clean at all. Looks like the garage had cleaned at some point and left a few spider web scrathes over certain parts of the bodywork.Did a few hours on the car over the weekend with SSR2, Vanila Mouse, EX and the next day i added some Nattys to see what sort of effect it had as i had previously used EXP over Vanilla Mouse. Here are the results--not perfect but definately getting a bit better ( remember im new to this and its a 9 year old Skyline GTR, V-spec ).
