well, i usually dont post much anymore because the "click and brag" section has become more of a "hey tell me how good i am" rather than "here how these products work on this paint/color" but oh well, i still browse a lot and greatly appreciate the people who share their knowledge. I really enjoyed the way this car turned out and was REALLY happy with the exp looked on the paint so i figured i'd share.

The car is an 04 with about 30K on the odo but man, this thing was in desperate need of some TLC. car had never been waxed or sealed and only washed a few times. After a proper wash, the paint looked to be in good shape so the process was....

FPII with EDGE 2000 polishing pad

AIO with Meguiars finishiing pad via PC (not a needed step, but i was having fun)

EXP by hand and meg's foam applicator

4star tire gel 1/3 mix with 303 on the tires

303 on inside dash and doors

oxi clean mixture and shop vac on the carpets

AIO on the wheels

FP, AIO, followed with EXP was an awesome combo on this color. Here are the results.

The wheels weren't my top choice either, but hey, its a 40 year old lady who sports an RX8 on 18" Diablo's... pretty pimpin if ya ask me.

dealer had the wheels on it, and yeah, they are blingin, but when you see her get in it and drive away, its sexy as hell. yeah, i drove it too, very very nice ride, firm and tight, but just a lack of power.

Vernon

wow very nice job....hard to get a silver car looking as good as you did... :woohoo: as for the wheels :banned:

[quote name='1SLOW50']Those wheels made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

:LOLOL That's hillarioius!

i honestly don't see the wheel problem. maybe because my SUV has chrome wheels, but maybe u guys just don't think they look good on this particular car. I think it goes perfectly with the color and its deffinitly an eye turner. and i wouldnt say a lack of power. Seeing as u said, its at 30k miles which is more or less "broken in" for a rotary. so its 0-60 is about 5.9 secs rite now. if my car was that quick i'd be in heaven, then again i've never driven with rotary engine so maybe the power feels different somehow.

4830Deuce- thank you very much, i think the extra step of AIO helped with the shine.

1SLOW50- at first, i didn't like them either, but after it was all done and seeing her drive away, i think they match the car well, and certainly match the style of the owner.

GSRstilez- i'm still around, dont worry, just havn't been postin much. but thank you

Those wheels are atrocious on that car. What's a 40 year old woman trying to attract with pimp wheels like that? :chuckle:

Also, can anybody tell me why 90% of all the RX-8 owner's, at least in my area, are all female?

cause they are a girly car? haha i dont know, i like em, but yeah, i see a bunch of females in them as well.

It's not the chrome of the wheel that is the problem, it's the style.

They remind me of those spinner hubcaps.

That second shot of the back of the RX8 is amazing! Looks like the clear coat is an inch thick! AIO/EX-P is a great combination on silver. :)

Great combo. Maybe I'll try that on my S after I strip it down... again :)

As far as the feeling of lack of power - 18" wheels that are THAT bulky (heavy!!) as I'm sure those are (gotta be >25lb) will definitely make a difference in the acceleration and therefore the feeling of power. tho after some research, apparently stock rx8 wheels are about 23lb... Eh, she's not in it for the speed, apparently :)

I love those wheels and thought to myself I wonder what they are I might have to buy some of those...Great job by the way ;)

not sure why u say she has no power... guess it depends a lot on what you were driving before.

But i know this for sure.. you cant drive her around like a piston car. You need to shift at 4k rpm and keep her in one gear lower than you would normally in any oher car. Also, to keep her purring, you need to redline her a few times a week. It's the nature of a rotary. She wont mind revving to redline, she actually loves it ;) Just drive her like u stole her and everithing will be all good
