Side View Mirror Trim

Hey guys I currently own a 350Z and the sideview mirrors are attached to a black plastic base. For some reason there are several white spots. I tried applying some Mothers back to black, but it didn't help much. My car is an 08, so I doubt they have faded already. I originally thought it was wax residue, but it seems to be ingrained in the trim. Any suggestions on what I can use to remove these or what it's from? Thanks

I wish I could credit the appropriate Autopian for this, but his name slips my mind right now. Mineral oil (Johnson's baby oil) apparently will not only remove white stains, it leaves a nice finish behind. I haven't tried it yet, though.

Try mineral oil. You can apply it with a q-tip, let it dwell for 30 sec. and buff. No scrubbing required. Peanut butter works (sometimes) because of the oil. Mineral oil is much cleaner. (but not as good with jelly)
