Side Bar Care?

my sister got a 2001 rav 4 with stepping side bars (things you step on to get inside the suv) a year ago.

planning on doing a full detail on it this weekend.

anyone have any advice or tips for cleaning and sealing them.

planning on using a degreaser to clean then AIO and then SG.

also i thought i might have seen a small amount of rust forming around black plastic foot grips.

anything i can do about it?

I dont know what kind of degreaser you plan to use so please test an area to see if it is going to stain. I would add claying after a strong wash and then AIO.
