Sick of AG's Shipping!!!!!!

I think Im going to try the DD red 16x16's... dirt cheap!!! Im going to get some other stuff from AG too thanks guys!

I have some of those red towels from DD. They're a lot like the Cobra Jr. towels excpet they're thinner. Also very similar is the yellow towel with the black edging from Chemical Guys. In terms of thickness/plushness it's in between the Cobra and the DD towel.

Personally, I really like the Ultra Plush towel from Detailed Image. They're not cheap though.

I never knew about the AGO code :(

call them up and say you forgot to add the AGO code. i'm not sure if they'll honor it or not but it's worth a try (they will have to credit the charge back to your CC). The AGO code usually works out to be better than the "autopia" 10% discount code as you usually save more by getting free shipping than getting 10% off. their CS is pretty friendly and helpful so I wouldn't be surprised if they'll honor it, but if not don't get mad (as it's technically not their fault). Next time you'll know how to save more on your order. good luck!

I bought the Cobra jr. from autogeek because I was ordering over $75 and they had the 15% off promotion.

Why not try other MF's? The thread on Euro MF's was interesting http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-...row-10-pack-microfiber-shag-weave-towels.html

, pic of towel on page 4, and I bought two packs of 10 plus some other stuff (waffle weave towel, satin weave towel, and a sheepskin mitt). Good price and only $9.30 for ground shipping. If you are in CA, you have sales tax. At this price, I couldn't pass it up, at least to try.

The Euro's are such awesome towels for the price. I'm ordering another 10 pack tonight. Great prices and quick shipping. Compared to the 7 business day shipping it takes for AG to get to my house...

Cobra is autogeek's brand. I have found that PakShak and Cobra's are VERY similar, and both identical to Chemical Guy's towels, IMO. Infact, my CG towels are the best I have ever used.

I have to second the CG recommendations, I have the green ones (forget the exact title) and love them. I use the costco yellow ones for the dirtier jobs.

AG shipping is high, guess you gotta realize AGO + other seasonal discounts dig into prices. They do offer almost every product.

Can you please explain exactly what towels you're referring to Todd? I find Cobra Jr. and CG Elite Deluxe are very similar. But favor the CG ones because the Cobra Jr. lint. Now PakShak Ultra Plush are completely different then both of those and 100x better. Ive also got Cobra Indigo, Mango Breeze, Blue All Purpose, Yellow All Purpose, and Miracle Towel. And the Ultra Plush are completely different and still 100x better then all of those. The PakShak WW is also a lot better then the Cobra Guzzler. Have you ever tried the Ultra Plushes at all?

I ordered some cobra's to compare them with CG elite. The cobra's do have a nice plush feeling on both sides. A nice towel. The CG's Towels have a plush side and a not so plush side for removing hard to remove products. I still have to give the CG's a slightly higher recomendation. JMHO

Ultra Plush 8.75mm thick 16x16 branded from CG (purple on the site, but came in blue) look is identical (in color as well) to the PakShak MicroPak Ultra Plush 8.75 mm thick 16x16 branded. I have them both in my hands and cannot tell the difference, at all (including color (except the PakShak one is a little older and does look slightly faded).

Now the Cobra JR Elite Deluxe is the one I believe I was referring to from autogeek, but I don't own that one, Brian does. The purple one. I remember commenting on how similar they where (to which he agreed) but I do not have them side by side. Like I said I have the CG and Pak Shak ones, and fine them identical.

I don't see where PakShak mentions 8.75 mm thick. There are other web sites that do sell the same towel as CG"S....

I think AG's prices are getting ridiculous as well. I was going to buy a grit guard bucket with gamma seal lid, but it was $30 just for the item, then they wanted $10 shipping! $40 for a bucket with a plastic piece at the bottom and a screw on lid is ridiculous!

So instead, I bought a 5 gallon bucket at Lowe's and bought the Gamma seal lid at pet smart (they have a wide range of them there). Total cost=$15. Now I just need to find a "grit guard", though I may fork out the $10 for it...

It is getting harder to find online retailers using less than $8 to $10 min for shipping. UPS is getting expensive.

TH0001,

I have the purple JRs and they lint. I don't care for them. So if someone switched the CG ELITE ULTRA-PLUSH SUPER PREMIUM MICROBIFER MICRO-BANDED 8.75mm ones and the PakShak MICROPAK 16" x 16" Ultra-Microband Plush Micro Fiber Towels ones, you couldn't tell the difference? If that's the case, I'll have to get them from CG since they are $34.95 vs. $48.00. Have you ever tried the ones from EuroO'Reilly? If so, how do they compare?

Thanks!

I just got a good sized box sent from Bob at Danase (about one cubic foot in size) and it was only $6.24 shipping. It wasn't that heavy as it was mostly towels, but that still wasn't bad.

How does $7.10 plus shipping sound for a grit guard? Couple bucks cheaper than AG.

Grit Guardâ„¢ - US Plastic Corporation

That's where I bought mine...in fact I've purchased many things from USPlastics.com for pretty cheap.
