Wow..nice write up...:up

Is the Dupont Wheel Cleaner acidic?????

No, it doesn't appear to be. As I mentioned before, its a soapy feeling product and that apparently indicates its not acidic. Someone was supposed to mail me a few litmus strips to test for acidity, or even maybe lend me their pH tester but I guess that someone forgot.

:sosad

That's OK though. I seem to have forgotten to send that someone an article that I've never finished. :doh

Nice review! Both products look very good. It will be interesting to see how they compare durability wise, as the Z16 is pretty decent for a water based product.

Your litmus strips are on the way...I'd love to have supplied the digital pH meter, but a certain wheel cleaner ate through my electrode, and a new one is on order. :)

Oh, and I think I see some residual dirt on the after shot where you've just rinsed the tire...it looks brownish...

:lol You guys.

Very nice pics Bret. Are you planning on seeing if the Dupont cleaner actually does make future cleanings easier? I'm not sure how you'd test for this....

Oh yes, I almost forgot - does the cleaner say anything about tires, or did you just use it anyway? I've found that wheel cleaners will clean tires just fine too (even if they're not meant to) but I have mixed feelings about doing that...

Brian,

I'm not going to worry about the protecting ability of the wheel cleaner. My truck doesn't generate the kind of brake dust my Saab used to so a test will be difficult and inconclusive. I use Mothers Clearcoat Wheel Polish to keep them looking good, anyway.

Yes, the Dupont product cleans both wheels and tires. It says it can be used for that right on the bottle.

BRET,

Does that bottle of Teflon Wheel Cleaner say anything on it about weather or not you can use it on Polished Aluminium Wheels or is it just for clearcoated wheels?
