Pros,

I'd be interested to know how many of you already have a website vs. actively started vs. don't have one, want one.

Thanks!

We had a site back when we just detailed. Then when I went to detailing on the side I kept one up for a while but word of mouth was where I got my business from so I ended up taking it down.

I voted my web site is doing great, but that's fairly subjective. It's doing great for my uses at the moment but I feel you should always be looking for ways to enhance and improve your web site. Mine isn't perfect by any means, but I think the amount of emails/calls I get compared to my Google Analytics stats are decent taking into consideration I haven't been taking new appointments since October and being a mobile detailer in the upper mid-west.

Stats from July-September were much better and I'm hoping my site redesign will help me keep better rankings on Google.

I am working on getting everything in order before I take the first step to getting a website up and running. My goal is the new yearm wish me luck.

We're online and running, but we need to upgrade some things and keep track of traffic / visits / referrals. Having a site is much better than not a long as it looks clean and professional. Many people have contacted us through our information listed online, so we feel it's a benefit.

Just as a pro detailer can make anyone's car look that much better, I feel the same towards web designers and other service jobs.

I have a domain name but the site is still under construction. Guess that's what happens when a friend is doing it for free.

Mine's been up for awhile. It was no:1 in flint when googled. I need to change the layout a bit and get things more sqaured away with professional graphics and such. I've done everything 100% myself and finally broke down and hired out a logo company. Still waiting to see their results. But it's just a cookie cutter site through tripod.com I feel like it's almost like starting back at square one now that I moved and have to SEO it all over again.

New and redesigned website is up and running.......it use to be an old frame style from the 90's. After things went sour with the economy last September I had the chance to put my new site together. I launched this one in January 2009 and it works awesome, I upload photo's and videos regularly and I am able to change content using an HTML-kit

Just purchased a new domain headlightlensrestoral.com which I plan on launching 12/2009........

David, what are you planning to market on headlightlensrestoral.com? Will this be service, product or both? Great niche.

David,

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner, Its been crazy busy over here detailing......

Thanks for your interest in my new niche thats fits right into my Mobile Auto Salon that I offer. I plan on offering the following for now....

1) On site mobile headlight lens restoral

2) I envision a core exhange program with a quick turnaround via UPS or FEDEX, where clients can send me their lights if they are out of state. I would offer a quick next day service or 24 hour turnaround. (Whats your thought?)

3) Not sure if I will get into product at the moment, who knows though. I have an awesome connection on supplies from a WD....

I will offer 3 different levels of Headlightlens restoral

1) Restoral and LSP (sealant)

2) Restoral and PPF

3) Restoral and UV Coating

headlightlensrestoral.com

coming January 2010

By the way "Thank you" for doing such a great job on this site and providing a place for us true professionals to show our work and share our tips and advice..:bigups

Website has been the driving force for our business from day one. It has assisted our marketing efforts and given use the visibility with the right clientele. We have been through a few web companies but finally got what we wanted.

Site was designed and up and running before the business was open. About 10% of clients so far have booked their appointments and done their pricing research online, without ever seeing or speaking to me prior to showing up.

I think my website is doing well, it looks great and I get tons of compliments on it.

Mine is more of a point of reference than it is to generate business though.

I built my site through Yahoo Site Builder and it's been a lot of work and fun! I get enough traffic on it to warrant me keeping it open. A lot of people that contact me tell me that they picked me because no one else has a website that shows their work. I only detail on the weekends so it's been perfect for me!!

Started my site a couple years ago with SBI ( check them out! ) and it has been a frustrating proess. SO much to learn about everything; everything regarding building a website has to do with strategy. It is in my hands and I am learning the entire process. I am creating a site that can be found, rather than just a glossy brochure online that nobody ever finds.

My site is doing well. I'm am in the process of making it a little more informative in some areas and thinning out some others. I get most of my clients through it via Google.

In November Google named me one of Google's favorites and gave me a cool decal to post at my shop. People can scan it with their cell-phones and it gives them my website, reviews, shop information etc. Being as though my shop is at my house, it didn't help me out. SO I became an exclusive off-site detailer for a luxury dealer and they have it posted for when clients ask for mobile services. Has worked great for me so far. I say website made a big difference in my work.

I'm really focusing on my site this year. Not doing anything with it but just marketing it better.

Here are some of my stats....
