Was wondering what speeds everyone else was using on their PC for

A) optimum compound

B) optimum polish

make sure you also say with what pad and grade of scratches/marring .... :thx

speed 2/3 to spread any/all products i use with the PC. speeds 5/6 to work it in.

the softness/hardness of the paint determines the level of marring from the pad choice...but i only get that when using an orange or yellow pad (on softer paint).

6, is there any other speed?

My words exactly. Wish it had a 7 or eight.....

LOL!

You have to use this speed to get Optimum's chemicals to break down. Work time is forever!

One thing though.......

Use very little chemical on the pad. To much and the lubricants with over ride the abrasives and you'll be wasting your time. Two, pea sized amounts is all that is needed on a 6 inch pad.

I dont use Optimum with my pc at all, to much working time.

I have the optimum line for my rotary and megs 80 series for my PC.

I don't think you can marr the surface with a PC.

I think he was asking what grade of scratches/marring you use the pad and chemical for.

I could be wrong though... happens all the time. Just ask my wife. :hairpull

You guys sound like Nigel Tufnel.

Nigel Tufnel: [pointing to a customized Marshall amplifier head unit] This is a top, to, uh, you know, what we use on stage, but it's very, very special, because, if you can see...

Marty DiBergi: Yeah...

Nigel Tufnel: [pointing to the control dials] ...the numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board: eleven, eleven, eleven, eleven...

Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.

Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is that any louder?

Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most... most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up... you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi: I don't know...

Nigel Tufnel: ...nowhere! Exactly! What we do is if we need that extra... push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel: ...Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder, and make ten be the top... number, and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel: [pause, blank look and snapping chewing gum] These go to eleven.

Sorry, its early and maybe only humerous to me.
