should I use tire dressing on a ATV

That's funny! I'm glad I'm not the only one to let some "blue" language fly when I'm not having any fun on a job!:Innocent:

In normal conversation I dont curse much but when Im alone and noone can hear me I let loose if Im frustrated or mad .It seems to be good therapy and really makes me feel better LOL:D

LOL...I heard a lil old Chinese woman going crazy at our local Asian establishment. She saw that I had witnessed this and started apologizing profusely. I told her, no mame, you go right ahead and blow off your steam. Just don't feed me kitty kat :-B

Water based is good but if he was going to take it out I would have skipped it. Would have loved to see pics of your work. BTW, if you ever detail a motorcycle, NEVER, dress the tires with anything. Dressing has been known to blend onto the tread due to the high rpm causing tire slip. Tire slip is never good on a 2 wheeler.

Thanks for the advice . This job I could not do much with the paint because unfortunetly the clear coat was already showing signs of failure on the roof so i just clayed and waxed it.

It really was a beautiful beast though ...I may see if I can get a couple of pics of it ...not to show my work but just to post what a wild looking ATV it is.

Yes I already know about not dressing motorcycle tires but its a good reminder for everyone. I used to ride motorcycles when I was younger and more wild and adventurous. :)

Flash...ever see that old stand-up routine by Eddie Murphy? The chinese cook in the back making the food is pissed off at the white kids ridiculing the waitress for her accent and says "I make special wonton soup for you" as he pisses in the soup! I think it was from Delirious.

Ok i got some pics but can someone help me ? The pics post super gigantic and Im afraid it messes up the board if I post them .

I am totally clueless Im afraid. In fact this is the first time Ive used my digital camera :-B Thanks if anyone can help

Okay DC,
First upload them onto photobucket. Once they are there. copy the IMG Code and click on insert link just under the smily in the message box. Then just paste the link into the box and you are good to go.

Yeah, I guess you're right and I'm just used to a different looking ATV. I guess more like the ATV's you see on tv like from Polaris, etc. I give you credit for tackling that job!

sorry all this is so disjointed !:spy:having a hard time getting them to embed without being too big.

You would never know I dressed the tires the day before and looked great but the sealant grease that oozes out of the tires ruins it pretty quickly , noticable in the rear tire

Me smiling and so glad to be done with the job

I think I finally got the hang of picture posting!:D

It must have been a beast to dry. I could see using a spray cleaner but there are so many nooks and crannies that you would need a blower to dry it. When I read ATV, this is not what I imagined.

As for posting pics, you have to resize images to around 800 pixels wide to show properly (not too big on the typical display). Some forums will resize it automatically and some web hosts will also resize it for you.

Thanks Al......I will see about resizing them as there are a couple more pics.

I wish i had known I was going to take pics so you could appreciate the befores and afters

Pretty much my mind was on overload not knowing where to start and how to approach cleaning it and I had to do it right there in front of the busy shop with people stoppping and talking to me all day .So it was a tuff job but maybe second time around wouldnt be so bad .

Now that Ive had a few days to step back from it it doesnt seem so bad and would consider doing it again and would like to finish up some areas that needed more attention.

I think I may change the thread title to dune buggy . ATV is prob more of a vehicle you would take in the woods or mountains?

I dont know , im more of a beach person:D

Yes, an ATV is what we use here in the hills of Tennessee :-B

I think what you were detailing was a Sandrail maybe :-? There super fun too <:-P I would definately give it another go. Just like with anything, it gets easier each time Da Rules!

coconut soap

To clean tires and wheels we use coconut soap and a good brush can get excellent results, besides cleaning restores color, shine and highlights the action has degreaser. Has anyone tried it?
