Should I use PB's SSR on chrome wheels?

Have some chrome 20" wheels that have some funky "cloudy" stuff on them. Tried AIO but no help. What about using PB's SSR 2.5 on chrome? Any reason not to use it?
 
My guess is that would not be a good idea being that 2.5 is pretty abrassive. I would try Pro Polish and if necessary SSR1 but ssr2.5 and Chrome doesn't sound like a good mixture to me!
 
I too would use Professional Polish ...what was on the rims that made them cloudy? :dunno
 
Another :bigups for PB's Pro Polish on chrome! :D

Also, chrome is a plating (very thin on most things, too!) so use of an abrasive isn't likely going to help you out, and will more than likely damage the plating beyond repair.
 
what about a chrome polish!


why didnt u try them first. mothers neverdull is pretty darn strong and the pieces of cotton seem to abrade away anything pretty well...

quick note: ssr's work well. but again thats not their sole purpose, therefor it wont neccesarily get the job done the way chrome should be done on heavily clouded chrome. all surfaces hold and react to dirt differently so they all need different approaches.

aio is one of those universal products that seems to work well on everything
 
Just a clarification, in case anybody's looking to buy one of the impregnated cotton wadding polishes:
Mothers wadding polish is called "Polishin Pad"
"NevrDull" is sold either as its own "line" or in the Eagle One line.

Don't know what is on them, just something that has made them cloudy in some areas. Saw SSR 2.5 packaging said uses included chrome, that is why I asked. Don't have Pro Polish in the detailing arsenal at the time

If the chrome was in bad shape, not just cloudy, and if it was pitted like an old bumper , then SSR2.5 could be used. IF the chrome was good shape beforethe haze, then you want something not abrasive.:)
