Should I use glaze

I am quite new to detailling. Last week-end I apply AIO and SG on my car and I love it. I think I'm getting addict to detailling now :D. But now I want to go a step further and I plan to get those product:

PC7336 with a bunch of pad

SSR1

SSR2.5

Sonus Spritz

...And a lot more that doesnt mather here

Now I have a concern if I should get a glaze to go between SSR1 and AIO or use it instead of SSR1. My paint is fairly new, but there is some minor defect that I want to get rid of. The easily available product up north that I found are Red Moose Machine Glaze and Menzerna FG. I know that we must always try the less abrassive first, that why I consider trying a glaze instead of SSR1 first. I would like some advice about what I should do.

P.S. the SSR2.5 are for my father car which is badly oxidyze.

AIO will take a glaze off, and SG probably won't bond well over a glaze.

I'd say if you want to stick with the Klasse products, then you shouldn't really bother.

I dont get it. So you guys are trying to tell me that a glaze will do about the same job as AIO. What about the abrassive property? Is SSR1 is too abrassive for the job I want to do? If AIO remove the glaze, why is it going to affect SG bonding??? :help: ANSWEER :hairpull

Sequence of Product Application:

Paint surfaces-

1.Car wash concentrate-

2.Detailerâ€â„¢s clay-

3.Machine polish 1-

4.Machine polish 2- SSR 2.5

5.Machine polish 3- SSR 1

6.Chemical cleaner- Klasse AIO

7.Polymer sealant- Klasse SG

8.Glaze-*

9.Carnauba wax-

10.Spray (Booster) wax-

11.Quick detailer- *Sonus Spritz

As long as you have an understanding of what each step does you can alter the sequence or omit steps in the sequence to suit paints condition / needs (but you cannot apply a polymer over a Glaze or a Carnauba wax)

Note: * these products are not compatible; if you use a Glaze youâ€â„¢ll need to use a Carnauba wax QD

Don't forget that the KSG you applied last week, in addition to being a quality sealant is also a Glaze... Too many people forget that. These products must be used in the correct order though for best results. :xyxthumbs

You do understand that a glaze is not abrasive at all, right? It works as a filler to cover up minor swirl marks and scratches. People like to use it to add extra depth and the "liquid look" before applying the wax. I bought some Menzerna FTG and applied it in between FP II and FMJ. Don't really know if it made things look any better, but I got it, so I'm going to use it.:D

I also have 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. It works pretty well at covering up minor swirls and it does seem to add wetness to the look of my car. I don't use it with my sealants because it's not recommended, but I always apply it before any carnauba because I know it'll make a difference.:)

I think I understand that by calling SG (Klasse Sealant Glaze) you mean that it contains no abrasives. I normally associate a glaze as containing oils and fillers.

FWIW- I think by Klasse calling it a 'Glaze' is confusing as its a sealant primarily.

Ok I think I got a little confuse with that glaze thing. I saw it as a light polish with oil filler. But it actually dont have any polish abilities. I drop this glaze idea then.

I'll probably try to work AIO with the PC, and if its not enough, I'll use SSR1.

Thank guys for your replies:xyxthumbs

Yes, fair enough. Products are all over the boards these days. My WPS contains oils and fillers(minute abrasives though), so sometimes I don't reach for more traditional glazes like RMG. But I never feel like I'm missing out when I just go the KSG route. Sometimes it's all the glaze & sealant I need... :xyxthumbs
