Should I remove the side mouldings?

From what I hear, the side mouldings on 4th-gen F-bodies are very easy to remove.

The 1st page he has them on, 2nd page they are removed.

The only thing I'm worried about is what the paint underneath will look like.

Any opinions? Here's a pic of my car right now.

I don't really see a huge difference with them on or off. Looks about the same to me. If you take them off and don't like it, will you be able to get them back on??

Maybe you could try it and see if you don't think it would be too much of a pain to get them back on. I think your car looks very clean as it sits. :bigups

I like the way they flow with your bumper lines.

However, if it were me, I'd take em off just to see how it looks and go from there :)

Do the side moldings cover up a body panel seam?
The matching body colored side moldings look fine to me. If the molding was black, then I would consider removing it.
On most cars, the molding isn't at all objectionable and I think I would probably leave the original factory molding.

When I removed the side molding off my old Expedition I used high test strength fishing line. I wraped them between two fingers and ran it down between the body and molding. It was very simple. I then rotary then sides with Malco "Rapid Cut" to blend it in to match.
