Should I get the Flex?

I know some folks say that the Flex and rotaries spin in opposite directions. Does that apply to the Flex rotary also or does both Flex machines spin in the same direction?
 
For those of you who are getting Flexes, don't sell or give away your D/A. One day you may come across a car with soft Honda paint that just hates your Flex, as I painfully discovered the past two days. No matter how gentle the polish or pad, I got scouring. I finally had to switch to my G110 to correct the damage and to finish the vehicle (which I hope to accomplish, finally, tomorrow).

I have two Hondas that I take care of right now. My 96' red Prelude VTEC was repainted and the new paint is actually on the hard side. I've made passes over it with IP on a white pad and there are still some swirls.

The other Honda is an 07' white Accord with SS paint. Again, IP on a white pad has had virtually no effect on the swirls. Needless to say, I don't have to worry about soft paints.:xyxthumbs

I agree. There are also way more reasons to keep the PC besides soft paint too. Carpet brushes, 4" pads, an extra machine for LSP's, and so on. I don't think a used PC is even worth any amount worth getting rid of it.

Interesting, I've done several Hondas with my Flex RO with no ill results - even black Honda's that would for sure highlight this situation...

Can you describe the technique and polishes you have been using please. Perhaps my technique is to blame (likely), and I'd like to correct whatever I'm doing wrong. Tx.
 
I've done soft black honda paints with my rotary with no ill effects as well. It's all about the technique.



Although with the new season almost upon us I'm planning on adding a few new toys to the arsenal. Using the Dewalt R/O over the PC has been good. But I don;t like not being able to change the heads. So thinking about picking up the flex this season so I can have a few more options available.

Seems that people who are highly skilled with the rotary often prefer that for soft paints.



..Although with the new season almost upon us I'm planning on adding a few new toys to the arsenal...so I can have a few more options available.

More options > fewer options ;) I'll be interested to hear what you think of the Flex.
