Should I be mad about this, or should I finally dump Zaino...

Don't apologize, 66#1! Right or wrong it's your observations. Don't be bullied into silence either. Being in the minority doesn't prove one's wrong and I'll bet everyone has used products that just didn't work out like the "crowd" said they would. Maybe it was your process but so what....that just tells me that maybe Zaino is not a fool proof product and maybe that's important FOR ME AND OTHERS TO CONSIDER. I'm glad you posted.

I want products that deliver with no special skills, equipment, formulas, proceedures and secret rituals to go through. Forget that. I wonder who gets a better result with products that must deliver in 8 hours or less? Like for a customer you may only have one shot to "hook" as a steady customer. (Hey, Man, if you come back every other day for a month I'll get ten billion layers of Liquid Vita-Chrome on you ride. It will last several centuries.) Show cars maybe and "Hey, I'm so cool" people may want that but so what. That's about them.

I'd rather use friendlier products more often, thank you very much. By the time "they" play with their chemicals for the Nth time I'll have my cars detailed and looking great...TRYING MANY DIFFERENT LOOKS....several times over. What fun. It's just my point of view.

I think you got several great answers from good people trying to help and I'll just leave it at that.

Are you near an airport or refinery? Maybe you have some type of a pollutant attaching to the Zaino causing it to stop beading. Does the beading return after a Z6? If you wash with Z7 it will not bead since there is a sheeting agent in the wash but beading should return on the first rain. Other than that bad prep is the only thing that comes to mind. Give Sal a call at 732-833-8800 and discuss with him personally. He loves talking about his products on the phone.

Zaino has always been great on the protection end....but the shine was more plastic/synthetic to me. I've used Zaino for 2 years now....and I just recently decided to try something new, but Zaino has always been great for protection. I had 2 coats of Z5 and 1 coat of Z2 on my CL and it easily lasted through a Chicago winter! Its all about the prep work with Zaino!

I have yet to use a product that lasts longer than Zaino.

Good luck, I hope you find the results you are looking for.

I used to use Zaino but now I use Rejex. A lot of Porsche owners are switching to it. I live in South Florida so I KNOW about rain. This stuff works! Oh, and I have 4 BLACK cars.....

I'm not affiliated in any way with these guys, just a happy customer.

I'm curious as to what car wash you're using and if you're using too much (and the QD) one weekend and it's gone? that's tough

As for Z offering the most protection, I challenge 1 coat of Z anything versus one coat of Klasse anything and find out which lasts longer ;)

~One manâ€â„¢s opinion / observations~

Iâ€â„¢m in NE Florida and I must say Zanio has worked for me inc. durability.

My prep. Inc AIO + Z7 wash (it may be worth noting that I use a filter on the hose wash as our water in PVB is â€Ëœhardâ€â„¢)

As theyâ€â„¢ve said there are many other products out there (Klasse, Autoglym, etc perhaps itâ€â„¢s time to try something new?)

~Hope this helps~

hey i live in palm city florida too, and also have no luck at all with zaino, or dealing with sal. He's rude, and if his product doesnt work, then it's my fault. I did everything exactly they way they want, i even ran to the bus stop and gave the secret hand shake to the guy with the umbrella. But it just didnt work. i do it the old way now, well i use a buffer and klasse products anyway. Plus i finish with poorboys ex-p or P21S if i really want gloss.

Zaino is just a beginner's wax as far as i'm concerned.

We'd all be very interested in what product(s) you finally settle on that give you the best and most durable results. And if you have similar results with lack of duration with any of the others you try.

Our local airport is a mile or more away. I work at a roofing manufacturing business (www.siplast.com), but I never drive my wife's car there. I drive our old Sunbird to work though. Our plant probably discharges a little lime dust and asphalt fumes, but the plant doesn't run every day. The Z6 doesn't seem to make much difference in the beading, but I didn't have time to Z6 after the last two washings. I do like the extra degree of shine and slickness that Z6 adds. Z7 does help the beading return somewhat, but it still looks like it needs to be reapplied IMO. It rained tonight, and the beading is somewhat better. When I washed today, the top and trunk didn't bead well when I first sprayed it off, but the hood was ok. Now the trunk and top are beading pretty good, but the hood looks like the Z is getting thin.

It doesn't just happen here. I can Zaino and go on and trip somewhere, and the same results happen regardless.

I have no problems with the "look" of Zaino. My wife's white GTP looks stunning IMO using Z. It even looks awesome with Z5. I use Z5 on my red Formula, so I've just used it on the GTP as well. Z2 is really awesome on white though! My red Formula looks great also. It did seem to be getting a washed out look with Z5, so I managed to get enough Z2 out of a nearly empty bottle for one coat. This brought a little "pop" back to the shine. I've asked my wife about the "plasticky" look, and she didn't think it looked that way. She would tell me if she thought it was. If I can get the durability issue solved, I'll be happy. I just want it to work for me like everyone else.

Zaino Z7 is what I use. I love this product. I put 2 to 3 capfuls in a 2 gallon bucket and spray. I get awesome suds at first. I spray to refill the bucket a couple of times during a wash.

As for Sal, I wouldn't say he's been rude. He and his staff have just ignored my emails, which were far from rude or hateful. Even a "kiss my butt" would've been better than a blow-off. I did email him after I first started using the Z. He did answer quickly then. He asked me to call him, but I got the feeling he was going to tell me the same thing he did in the email. His instructions are very clear and concise, but it just ain't working. They really need a toll-free number IMO.

I washed with Z7 today, and it came a short, light shower of rain. The water beaded up better on the top surfaces. Last week we had a hard rain and the water was not beading very good on the roof and the trunk, but the hood was pretty good. After the wash today, the roof and trunk were better, but the hood didn't bead up as well. This product does some weird stuff!

I'm for sure not an expert!!
