Are you near an airport or refinery? Maybe you have some type of a pollutant attaching to the Zaino causing it to stop beading. Does the beading return after a Z6? If you wash with Z7 it will not bead since there is a sheeting agent in the wash but beading should return on the first rain
Our local airport is a mile or more away. I work at a roofing manufacturing business (
www.siplast.com), but I never drive my wife's car there. I drive our old Sunbird to work though. Our plant probably discharges a little lime dust and asphalt fumes, but the plant doesn't run every day. The Z6 doesn't seem to make much difference in the beading, but I didn't have time to Z6 after the last two washings. I do like the extra degree of shine and slickness that Z6 adds. Z7 does help the beading return somewhat, but it still looks like it needs to be reapplied IMO. It rained tonight, and the beading is somewhat better. When I washed today, the top and trunk didn't bead well when I first sprayed it off, but the hood was ok. Now the trunk and top are beading pretty good, but the hood looks like the Z is getting thin.
It doesn't just happen here. I can Zaino and go on and trip somewhere, and the same results happen regardless.
Zaino has always been great on the protection end....but the shine was more plastic/synthetic to me. I've used Zaino for 2 years now....and I just recently decided to try something new, but Zaino has always been great for protection. I had 2 coats of Z5 and 1 coat of Z2 on my CL and it easily lasted through a Chicago winter! Its all about the prep work with Zaino!
I have no problems with the "look" of Zaino. My wife's white GTP looks stunning IMO using Z. It even looks awesome with Z5. I use Z5 on my red Formula, so I've just used it on the GTP as well. Z2 is really awesome on white though! My red Formula looks great also. It did seem to be getting a washed out look with Z5, so I managed to get enough Z2 out of a nearly empty bottle for one coat. This brought a little "pop" back to the shine. I've asked my wife about the "plasticky" look, and she didn't think it looked that way. She would tell me if she thought it was. If I can get the durability issue solved, I'll be happy. I just want it to work for me like everyone else.
I'm curious as to what car wash you're using and if you're using too much (and the QD) one weekend and it's gone? that's tough
Zaino Z7 is what I use. I love this product. I put 2 to 3 capfuls in a 2 gallon bucket and spray. I get awesome suds at first. I spray to refill the bucket a couple of times during a wash.
hey i live in palm city florida too, and also have no luck at all with zaino, or dealing with sal. He's rude, and if his product doesnt work, then it's my fault. I did everything exactly they way they want, i even ran to the bus stop and gave the secret hand shake to the guy with the umbrella. But it just didnt work. i do it the old way now, well i use a buffer and klasse products anyway. Plus i finish with poorboys ex-p or P21S if i really want gloss
As for Sal, I wouldn't say he's been rude. He and his staff have just ignored my emails, which were far from rude or hateful. Even a "kiss my butt" would've been better than a blow-off. I did email him after I first started using the Z. He did answer quickly then. He asked me to call him, but I got the feeling he was going to tell me the same thing he did in the email. His instructions are very clear and concise, but it just ain't working. They really need a toll-free number IMO.
I washed with Z7 today, and it came a short, light shower of rain. The water beaded up better on the top surfaces. Last week we had a hard rain and the water was not beading very good on the roof and the trunk, but the hood was pretty good. After the wash today, the roof and trunk were better, but the hood didn't bead up as well. This product does some weird stuff!
Zaino is just a beginner's wax as far as i'm concerned.
I'm for sure not an expert!!
