So hopefully Chevy can avoid taking an amazing concept car and sticking it on a four door chassis, increasing the drag with out increasing the power, not offer a stick shift, and charge 5k more...

Well the new Camaro is being built on the Holden-developed rear-drive Zeta chassis which underpins the newest Holden commodores and the new Pontiac G8 which are all 4-door sedans so maybe they are learning something from Dodge. In addition the Camaro won't be all that light either it will probably be just shy of 2 tons itself, although I don't think official numbers have been released. Heck the f-bodies were something around 3600 lbs. at least so the 5th gens are going to be a little more since new cars just keep getting heavier and heavier with each new model.

From the pictures I've seen of the Camaro test mules, the Challenger wins in the looks department IMO. Except for the interior they really dropped the ball on that, but I wasn't surprised. Hopefully the production Camaro won't look too different form the concept because I really thought the concept looked awesome.
