hehe.....my dad has worked at a GM dealership for over 30 years now and he has done most of his work in the get-ready and detailing section of the dealership. Because of his time, he think he is a detailing guru......however......he still insists its perfectly fine to wash a car every time using Dawn dish detergent. He just says the key is to know how much to use.
He also loves to wash a vehicle using a brush. There's nothing wrong with that according to him too. He also thinks that claybarring will just scratch and marr (sp?) a car and paint polishes etc aren't needed. All you need to do is wash the car and bring out a buffer/polisher and use some Megiaurs Gold Class and thats the best shine you can get. He is also bad about when a car gets dusty, but not dirty, getting a wet chamois and wiping over the car. That may be ok, but I sure wont be doing that at all!!!! He also just shakes his head at the stuff Ive learned off this site and thinks it is bullcrap and he knows more than everyone here. Well, I wonder why he came in today and complained about his Camaro (formerly my car) looking all dull and there being no wax on the car. I also wonder why his 1 week old painted black part of the side pillar/roof already has fine swirls and marring in it...... :hm
