Hi Guy's

Can i just start by complementing you all on such a wonderful forum, I live in Scotland and we have nothing like this.

My question is basically this, I recently purchased a 99 E39 BMW, deep blue with a nice cream leather interior, it's my first BMW and easily the best car i've owned. Now I want this car to shine and make the neighbours even more green with envy, so I need a list of cleaning materials to care of things.

I have plans to implement several mods, namely de-badging and Angel Lights, I have also purchased and applied some wet look gel that makes the tyres shine but lack the knowledge to bring the paint work to it's best.

Kind regards

Tolvar.

how much work/time/money are you willing to put into the car to make it look good. That determines the product you buy.

For starters, you'll wnat to clay the car to remove any contaminents. THere are lots of posts on the best clay and methods.

Klasse, Zaino, and Blakcfire are three favorites among people on products to use. It's all about preference and time for these. Look to see member pics to decide what you'd like on your car.

For the interior, Leatherique is the best, but it's very pricey and usually just used for neglected leather. Lexol works well, but there are others too.

For wax, a carnuba wax is prefered since it brings a better depth to the color.

Check out Tacscar or CMA for an overview on other good products, and good look shopping.

Hi Tolvar, welcome to Autopia. I see you're from Scotland. Nice to see another member from your part of the world. We have several members from the UK who post regularly. My suggestion would be to contact them and ask what products are available locally and who/where to purchase from. Many of the products we discuss are available in the US & Canada but not available in other parts of the world.

I recommend doing a search for posts discussing product availablility in England. Look for posts by John Ross and Lowejackson. I think you will find info contained in various threads that will help you.

Best of luck. Someday I hope to visit Scotland which is the home of my ancestors.
