Shipping prices ridiculous

How do you think us folk up North feel? I want to buy Leather Masters alcantara foam cleaner and eco protector, which I can only find that will even ship to Canada at Detailers Domain - they want $80 USD to ship $50 worth of goods to Canada.

The cheapest shipping is USPS which costs 50% of the actual product price. No wonder I haven't ordered yet, I feel like I need to buy more stuff to justify the shipping costs. :doh

80$usd was from FEDEX.

You never deal with FEDEX or UPS.

I've ordered from Detailers Domain, the total amount of my order was something like 1xx$usd and i paid 30$ for shipping. I think the shipping charge a pretty fair!

Samething about Autogeek, they have fair shipping price.

Now, one vendor i would like him to COMPLETELY review his shipping charge is = Detailed Image.

I've done comparison and for the SAME exact product(only one bottle of 16oz in cart), 30-35$usd difference concerning shipping.

Detailed Image = New York (4-5h from Canada)

Autogeek = Florida (20h + from Canada)

That's bad cause i really would like to order from them :aww:

LOL I just meant its easy for the folks who live close to the border...I live in windsor so I can hit detroit with a rock...

In this day and age people need to make money anywhere they can cause they are losing money everywhere. If that means screwing people on shipping so be it. If that means charging more for products so be it...If you were in their shoes you might do the same thing...I will still biatch though LOL

I understand what you mean

:)

I have friends that use fastforwarding something, it seems that they don't have any problems.

duke4ever,

If you are interested in trying some Adam's products check their website for a local dealer or event (detail clinic, car show, etc) that may be close by. It should save in the shipping and often there are good discounts at events.

I agree that the detailing company shipping costs do seem out of line with what other industries charge. I live in Orlando, and it costs me just as much to get something from Autogeek in S. FLA (arrives the next day!) as it does to get something from Cali or NJ/NY area.

I actually found Detailer's Domain in NJ, which is about probably about an hour to a little under an hour for me from NYC. Look's like I'll be looking to try that quick detailer people seem to rave about from adam's.

Don't forget your passport after the 1st of June or you won't be let across into the States. (Another expense to consider: if you didn't already have a passport, there's another $80+ to factor in.)

Here's a wonderful example of over priced shipping. My last shipment.

Prima Hydro (Spray/Booster Wax)

1 US$12.95 US$12.95

Product Cost US$12.95

Shipping Cost US$11.25

Total US$24.20

Yeah that kind of crap is just ridiculous, I actually saw a vendor that bases shipping on item cost which is complete crap because, we all know you can pay $100 for a small tub of wax and say $20 for a gallon of something and the wax under that system will cost MORE to ship!

I think the best thing to do it wait for free shipping or do coupon searches for free shipping. - I'll go out of my way to get free shipping, something about internet buying that has always driven me nuts.

Then again, there is something so rewarding about getting something in the mail. Like christmas...
