Shipping charges?

At todays prices, if I drive my truck about 10 miles it costs me about $4.00 in "shipping". I do not think $10 very much at all for shipping. Here in NC you are supposed to pay taxes on any out of state purchases but I am sure that entry is for honest tax payers.

Each to their own, however either shipping or tax, if there's an option to not pay one/other/both I'll buy at that location provided it's a good price.

That law was so bogus. NC was trying to force amazon into adding tax to anything we purchased on that site, Amazon refused.

The courts did side with Amazon about collecting and reporting taxes from NC residents but the actual NC law that residents pay taxes on out of state purchases was not invalidated.

I noticed that "out of state purchase" when filing my taxes for last year (moved to NC in Sept. 2010)... They realize 8% sales tax is so ridiculous that savvy spenders are purchasing everything on-line instead of paying the outrageous sales tax, so they have to include asking for out of state purchases? Maybe if they lowered the sales tax, people would be a bit more compelled to purchase items in the store instead of ordering everything on-line because its more sensible.

*edit* - speaking of shipping... what are the chances of you throwing another free shipping code out there? I've got some birthday presents I need to buy for myself so I can address them from my wife... :smile1:

I know when I go to do my Taxes at Blank Blank Blank they ask me if I've purchased products online. Because at the end of the year you're supposed to report it...w t f is the 1st thing I said.

Also by next month the states sales tax is being dropped to 6.5 I believe with huge job loss for Teachers.
