Was it Monster.com that recently announced they were hacked and info was stolen?

Yes, it was.

I'm also registered there, but haven't seen anything matching the email in this discussion.

I've had phishing exercises as well as some lame jobs (the ones about everyone is offered from there, I hear.)

The site that seems to spam me with far worse wastes of time is CareerBuilder.com, though.

Sounds like one of those pyramid schemes like stuffing envelopes from home or some other BS like that, only it's not real spam mail, it's electronic spam. They should put enjoy your bans to all those forums you will post their crap on at the bottom in small print.

... that's why I never posted my resume on Monster or CareerBuilder. I heard too many horror stories about endless e-mails & phone calls for one scam or another. I was on their sites every day, but never posted my resume. I wanted control over who & where my resume went. I was out of work for 10 months, but luckily, it all worked out just before the "dire straits" loomed on the horizon.

I have been out of work since the end of May and the dire straits are about to set in. Life blows donkeys.

Got another "job offer" today. This one was "transfer manager." Sounds like a pretty easy job. They send me a check, I deposit and keep 8% as a commission, then I send the balance to them via Western Union. Wow! I am SO glad they are willing to hire me for this great part time opportunity. :grinno: :grinno: :grinno:
