I started off with the wheels. How many brushes does it take to clean wheels??

On to the wash and decon. I’ve found that a MF towel instead of a brush works best for scrubbing cloth convertible tops.
Soaking with CGCW&G and Dawn mix in warm water applied with a foam cannon.

All washed and ready for decon.

During the decon I found a few chips in the paint and fixed those. Here’s the process I use. As I find them I circle them with a yellow marker to so they are easier to find and not get missed. The chips need to be thoroughly cleaned with wax & grease remover then the chip can be touched up. With the chips being so small once the paint is dry I use a pencil eraser as a sanding block. The sanding disc is 1500 grit 1 ½ in diameter and has adhesive backing.

Once I have the paint worked back down level I then blend it all in and take out the 1500 scratches with 3” 3000 grit pad.

All cleaned and protected with 303 Fabric Guard. To keep the top clean it was covered with 3M painter’s window plastic. The nice thing about this plastic is its pre taped on one side.

Flex 3401
Sonus Restore and MF pad was used for removing the 3000 grit sanding scratches. Enhance was used with a green pad and the finish was used with a black pad.
GG 6
LC black flat pad was used to apply the BFWD sealant. The MS was applied by hand.

The final wipe was with CG V7. All trim was dressed with either Details Pro Trim Detailer or Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus. The door jams were done with Details Pro spray wax.
Reverse taping to keep the trim dressing off of the paint.

Great job there, love the old school of using a pencil tip with sand paper to fix those minor area's! You put alot of work into this one! Bravo:rockon

Seriously great choice in some not-so-common products and an excellent job on the detail. The Shelby looks amazing now!
