Sheepskin Wash Mitts and Black Cars?

Well..... they said not to get a real sheepskin mitt because the wool leaves oils on the car and, on a black car, this would be especially noticeable.

Absolute rubbish. A good mitt won't leave any harmful oils. Mine work great on black cars and have for many years...

No one said anything about the oils being harmful. It's just that wool has natural oils in it (that's why special care is required to wash it). I think what they were saying is that the natural oils may streak on the paint.

Having said that, point taken! :D I'm on my way to buy a (genuine) wool mitt!

Fair enough. I'm just puzzled as to why they would say that the oils would streak the paint. You would think that they would know this does not happen. Maybe they are a dealer of synthetic mitts.

I have seen many a chamois leave oils on the paint as well as strip off wax...
