zesty-man

how do ya like it?
how do you guys clean your mfs?

heres what i do
warm wash/cold rinse
tide free detergent
1 oz white vinegar per mf towel

Well now that I think of it I haven't tried out my new regiment but here it is:

soak Very dirty MF (wheels / cleaning) inCold water + Tide and Hand wash
Comb for any particles that have been picked up.
Normal Cycle Warm/Cold w/ Extra Rinse - Use MicroRestore since most dirt is gone
Hang Dry

Since I go through so many towels weekly, everyday I put the days dirty towels, terrys and MF's, in a 30 gallon tub filled with a solution of carpet extractor degreaser and water. Then at the end of the week I separate the MF's and do a warm wash and cold rinse. I use Tide Free as well for a detergent. Then dry in dryer with low heat. Terrys get hot/hot with Tide Free and a cup of bleach.

I've been told to use cold water only and no dryer on MF towels. I soak in oxy-clean then wash on cold setting and hang up to dry

wow denver, thats pretty ool. so basically, you use the solution of carpet extraction decreaser and water to remove all of the grime thats on the towel, and then wash it.... hmmm, thats really interesting

hey beemerboy, does oxyclean bleech your towels in any way?

Warm Wash/Warm Rinse
Tide or Cheer Detergent
1-2 oz of Dawn
1/4 Cup Distilled White Vinegar in Fabric Softener Area
Extra Rinse

Low Heat Dry

My MF's stay very clean and still pretty plush and I use them A LOT.

hey GSR, do you only use 1/4 cup per load, or per towel?

2 oz of dawn, thats very little rite? about how many towels do you wash at a time?

warm wash with dawn (leave the lid open so when the wash cycle ends they are able to soak for a little while)
1 cup vinegar for rinse
low heat for 15-20 mins. (depending on load size)

I just use micro restore. It works great but is it me or is this stuff expensive? I mean every damn thing with this hobby is expensive but does washing the expensive towels have to cost a fortune too? They really need to sell this stuff in gallon jugs or something!

I remeber the other link to this i got usefull stuff from it , tried it and loved it . i put my twist on it - here it goes

5 gallon buckets. filled with the hottest water you can get flowin from your tap. palmolive in the water . saok towels. ring out , do load of wash (only micros) with how ever much soap desired, and a cup of vinegar in the rins cycle. then into the dryer medium heat .. no dryer sheets(for me) they need to smell good to wipe down a car ...i dont think so. plus my packages specificly say no dryer sheets they cause a film on the micros that cause water to bead on the the fiber . i tired it once and they did dry like **** ... since then the towels have been drying solo.

the white vineger in the rinse cycle is something I hadn't thought about, but makes a bunch of sense!

thanks!
