I was at a car show a couple of weeks ago where an Official ShamWow booth was set-up. I remembered your post so I happened to walk by when they were distracted and did a quick look/feel at what they were using for the demo and it felt like the same cheesy felt they sell, not at all like an absorber.qwertydude said:..........I really think there's a bait and switch going on. They use an absorber for the ads and send you felt in the mail. I'd just like to see a booth at a fair or trade show and ask to see the demo they use, and see if it's the same material as the ones they sell.
I thought it was funny that down a couple of isles was a booth called "Better than ShamWow". I didn't bother to get too close, but it looked the same to me.
I went in halves with a buddy a few years ago at a show and split an order of the ShamWow's. They blot OK but I'd never use one on my paint. I do carry one in back of the street rod. If I run into a monsoon rainstorm it comes in handy to blot up little dribs of water that sometimes find a way to seep in.
