ok I did alot to the bimmer soo far and it looks great!

I want to put a coat of SG on tonight or tomorrow.

OK, Can i put a coat on by hand tonight and buff it off tomorrow? I heard that it good?

Do i apppy SG like AIO, use very little?

I have a couple spots I wanta touch up, maybe by some touchup paint and do it... Is it ok that I will have SG on? or would i have to strip that off with AIO? I probably wont get around to doing that for a while tho.

I just use the WOWO (wipe on wipe off method) and get very good results, no need to wait all that time :D

If you want to touch up the paint, you'll need to strip it down to bare paint in that spot. IPA should do it. Don't use AIO, as it will leave some acrylic protection behind, defeating your work.

Yep, I've done that. No problem -- so long as there's no dirt/dust/particulates settling on the car in the interim. If they do, there's a risk of scratching.

Did the SG thing on the weekend for the 1st time.

Damn did I work.

talked to my dealer (supplier) who said that I either waited not long enough or too long. What he meant is this:

do one or the other:

Let it Dry!: over night at least. If you do like I did, put on too thick and try to buff after 2-4 hours, Your arms will be dead and so will the local cat after youve kicked it so many times in frustration. Took me 2 hours of extremely hard rubbing to get it off. Dealer said Wait a looong time, at least overnight. then it has a chance to flash off and harden. and go easy on the DS on the applicator pad, if like mine, the DS dries and makes it even harder to buff off.

Wax on? Wax off!! Dealer said this is a good way and gets 99% of the shine the let it dry method does. Put a couple of drops on the surface, (must be cool, not in sun) and spread it out thin onto the car with the AP. till it looks dry and there's nothing left. THEN Immediately take a plush Microfibre towel and buff it out.

I'm doing this next time and will save a few tylenol and beers for later occasions.

The secrets? put it on thinner than you think! then thinner again. the stuff is tough, supposed to last over 9 months so go thin. and if it gets tough to rub out? you'll need a thinner to get it off.

my dealer is in Canada: Chris at eshine.ca (good guy!)

best of luck!

I spray a tiny drop maybe no more the size of a dime from a small spray bottle onto a mf pad dampened with QD, then do the WOWO method, works great :up

Plenty of people like both methods, and for all sorts of reasons. Just use whatever method works best for you.

If you're really working hard, you might want to try altering your method; it really can be very easy stuff to use.

I don't think there's really any way to exaggerate how little you need. I just touch the applicator to the bottle, shake it once, move the applicator, shake it again, do this maybe five or six times; I get a few tiny spots of SG on it- just enough that the applicator doesn't "drag" on the paint (this is without QD/water on the applicator). I never put it on so thick that I can see it on silver paint or that the applicator becomes "wet" with SG. I'd say I use far less than an ounce to do the MPV each time.

Gosh, Accumulator -- and I thought I was using it thin!! Your technique suggests it's more "faith" than "product." :lol (Must work on technique, Must work on technique ....)

Try this for the next layer of SG:

Wet a MF completely with water.

Wring it out until it is damp, but not completely wrung out.

Fold in 1/2 then fold that into 1/3 at right angles to the first fold.

Dribble a very fine line of SG onto one side of the MF - about 2/3 the length of the long side.

Wipe that over half a panel.

Immediately wipe off with a clean dry MF.

(You might need another cleaner & drier MF to remove any streaks.)

Proceed to next section of car and repeat.

After about 3-4 sections you may notice the SG applicator MF getting a little sticky - at that point just refold the MF to expose a "clean" damp face and keep on with it.

Re-examine, your results looking for streaks and if any are seen, use another clean and slightly damp MF to wipe them down then hit again with a colean dry MF. OR use SONUS Acrylic Spritz QD to wipe away streaks. This stuff is a most excellent QD for those "in between" times when a full SG is not needed or you are presssed for time but want to brighten up the shine.

Oh yeah - wash using 1Z Pearls for an awesome shine restoration.

thanks guys!!

unfourtiontly i havnt had enought time to put the SG on latly... i will this weekend tho...

soo the car is still looing good with AIO but i see a little diry, especially near the bottom, start to appear...

I can wash the car with regular carwash soap and it wont affect the AIO at all right???

and for the SG... i have a gray pad...should i use the pc, or would it be best for a begginner to use a aplicater pad... I know at first with the AIO i used to much, i could see alot of it afterwards, but now after doing my grandpas car, i cut back and i saved alota product, would the sg be the same.

Definitely wash the car before applying the SG. Shouldn't be a problem unless the car wash has some wax in it.

I'd recommend applying/removing the SG by hand. I use a PC for polishing, and for applying the AIO, but I've found it is so easy to used the Wipe On/Wipe Off method, that it'd be more of a hassle to pick up the buffer/put it down/pick it up/put it down/etc.
