Severe tree sap problems.

A friend of mine has the same problem on her black accord. I've heard you can use TURPENTINE if nothing else works (which I think is made from tree sap)! I'm reluctant to try it , though. Anyone have any experience with it?

Works only with pine sap for sure and on others with limited success. I know it will work on fence treatment overspray.

Those larger scrapers might come in handy for something but look like a little overkill for this job. I'm not exactly sure what the Lil Chizler is, but I'd go with some nice sharp plastic razor blades if the IPA or WD-40 doesn't remove it:

Here's a new solution I just came across:



liberally pour lighter fluid all over the sap ensuring you cover areas out side on the stain zone. Have a close friend or relative standing by with a fire extinguisher and a video recording device. Light the upper most portion on the wet fluid with an approved lighting mechanism, quickly strike the troubled spot with a 14 oz ball-peen hammer while the small flame is breaking down the adhesive properties of the tree sap. Now, when the offending stain has been removed, spray the fire extinguisher over the car in a sweeping side to side motion.

Kerosene or Gasoline. Rinse, repeat. I use it on helpless tar and sap when all else fails.

I think the flaming lighter fluid might be a tad bit to aggresive so I would only use as dead last resort. Seriously real heat guns get unbelievably hot I think if I were to try heat I would go with a hair drier first and if you work up to a heat gun be extremely carefull. Plastic razor blade sounds good, carefully also. Seeing this old thread is great, good use of search tool
