SERIOUSLY Filthy carpet... Plan of attack?

Good job on the cleaning though, looks great for a truck. If you do replace the carpet, might I suggest trying to find a rubber floor for the work truck version? I had rubber carpets in my old police package, they were awsome.
 
They make auto carpet dye in spray cans, just redye it. Ive seen car dealers use this stuff on used cars. Find a place that sells automoble paint , they should have all the color choices.
 
Keep an eye out for a carpet at your local truck dismantler or body shop. With some persistance, patience, and luck you could score some great carpet.

ive done a bit of research into re-dying carpet and have found that these products promise better results than they actually give. it seems that "acid based heat activated dye" is the correct thing to use on carpet (as that is what the carpet is dyed with in the factory) but i have yet to locate any of this stuff. several articles i've read indicate that detail shops etc. may be able to redye carpet with this method for < $50.
 
Very interesting. I've done a little reasearch on the various dye's, but haven't gotten that far in. I've been busy monkeying with the motor. Hod Rod diesel trucks are my joy, so I've taken a hietus from cleaning on the thing to waste a little time trying to break parts. I snapped an 1-3/8" input shaft not too long ago. Replaced that with a stronger one and now, me and the "go pedal" are seeing what'll break next.

Hello...I had the task of cleaning a 1994 (?) Jeep Cherokee for my Father in Law, who was giving the Jeep to his sister after buying it from a State Department auction. It was gray with gray carpet and the car appeared to be used by road maintenance crews only. There was tar and other black stains and spills all over the carpet. I tried Oxy mix, Woolite, Armor Al APC, and something called Totally Awesome APC. After applying each product I sucked it up with the Bissel LGM, then moved on to the next product. The stains were diminished greatly but not nearly enough to be considered acceptable by most. What I did find out was that a heavy jet of spray was the ticket! The mats were in just as bad a shape as the carpet. I removed the mats, sprayed with ArmorAll APC straight and topped with OXY mix, scrubbed in with an upholstery brush, let sit for about 10 minutes, then took the garden hose on Jet setting and really soaked them down. They came out flawless! I wanted to remove the carpet but didn't have enough time for that. Maybe a better extractor would have helped...Sorry for the long post...LOL!
 
use VALMA INTERIOR CLEANER that will save you a lot of money and you will see some good results.



Step 1) just spray VALMA right on the carpet let it for 5 min.



Step 2 ) now start cleaning the sprayed area with a wet sponge or towel



repeat these 2 steps and voila it's done and you can add some of SONAX cleaner.

and perhaps you will need a brush for the cleaning together with that sponge.
