Sequence of applications:NXT, cleanser and P21S

Today I went to a polish and wax distributor. I picked up a clay magic fine clay bar, P21S paintwork cleanser and wax, Auto Magic No.78A BC-2 (supposed to be a mild swirl and scratch remover). I also have some brand new NXT (wax and the spray shine stuff) that I haven't used yet. Both MF and foam applicators. Two projects coming up:

1.) New Z71 Tahoe, silver birch metallic. less than 300 miles on it.

2.) Guards Red Porsche Carrera 4S. This car has some swirls and micro scratches in it. This one is my baby and don't mind spending a whole weekend on her.

I pretty much think that I'll use the NXT on the Tahoe w/out the clay bar (probably does not need it) and a day later use the P21S wax on top of it. With the Porsche I don't know what I should use and/or the sequence to use it. I don't have a PC either so I know my results might not be the best. TIA

*I* would use the claybar on the Tahoe. Pull the contaminants out of the paint while it's new, before they turn into "rust blooms", which look awful on light colors.

The general order would be: clay, Automagic, P21S GEPC, NXT, P21S wax. The GEPC is VERY mild, don't expect it to do much for your Porsche's marring.

I was just thinking the same thing about claying the tahoe. I just read that because P21S wax has petroleum distillate in it that it would not be a good idea to top the NXT with it. It'll break it down. Guess I'm going to have to leave the NXT alone on the tahoe and use some clay, some sort of polish, GEPC, Klasse AIO, SG and P21S wax on the Porsche?

I think the whole Petroleum Distillates thing is overblown. People make a big deal out of it for reasons of their own (to put it nicely). I dunno if the PDs (like those in P21S and almost every other product) really make a difference as far as messing up underlying products, but I think I'd just stick with the NXT and not top it until you've lived with/looked at it for a while. Then top it if you think it needs something extra. People apply wax over NXT without problems.

Either plan would work on the C4. NXT isn't a bad product, so it's not like you oughta use something "better" on the Porsche. NXT vs. Klasse is, IMO, like apples and different apples, not apples and oranges.

Awww i was hopeing you didn't buy the P21s wax yet. I was gonna try and talk you into trying out TOTL " Trade Secret ". Oh well.

I think Accumulator has pretty much covered every thing.

Last night after work I washed, clayed and NXT'd the Tahoe. There was noticeable contamination on the paint. I'm really glad that I decided to clay the paint. Haven't seen it out in the sun yet but what I noticed in the garage under regular incandescent light and after I was done is that GM doesn't apply their metallic silver very evenly. Looks a little 'splotchy' to me. Other than that my new Tahoe looks really nice with the NXT stuff. I hope it lasts a while because I'm really feeling all the work I did last night on a full sized SUV....

I have a question about the NXT. I'll be going home tomorrow for spring break and will start working on my paint tomorrow afternoon. My steps are:

Wash

Clay

SMR with PC

AIO

NXT

Can I go through the steps or should I just skip the AIO step??
