I have a guy who wants me to completly detail his semi truck (polish, glaze wax) the paint and detail the inside. he also wants me to apply a sealent to his 40' grain dual hopper trailer. he will be washing the truck and trailer himself and wants me to do the rest. I do not know what to charge? What do you all think. thanks for your input

I'd do it for 600 - hire a day laborer for like 60 bucks and it'll be worth every penny. The truck will be a bear, but the trailer can go real fast - apply a LSP with a PC, have the helper follow you with MFs and wipe off. Just make sure to bring a lot of towels and product, and Meguiars #66 could be a big money maker on the cab - its a polish glaze and wax in one, and its good at all 3.

What type of truck is it specifically? Interior will go a lot faster than you think because of the amount of room you have to work with. Be prepared for a lot of vinyl though.

What type of wash will he be doing? Most truck "hand" washes do an ok job but are not very thorough. Be prepared to remove a lot of road grime.

If you have any other questions, post away. I sell them new and used and have plenty of experience detailing them.

It is an older international with metallic green paint. the paint is in pretty good shape. the trailer has a lot of old grime and dull spots. i hope it will all wash off. it will be hard to put a sealent on a dirty trailer. i will probably have to wash it all over again. thanks for the help.

If you get get the worst of the grime off, Meguiars 66 will take out the dull spots and everything that washing won't remove. Or you could mix sealant and a little bit of polish to take them off.
