Sema 2015 speculation thread

Man those are some crazy good prices. Wonder what kind of sale we are going to get here? Also for you guys that got to try the v17 or wofgang waterless, would you pick that as your fav. I currently have some uww+ but with the sale i might get a bigger jug of rhe Wolfgang if its a better product.

Ah, had to know the WG coating was just a matter of time. I'll be curious to see reviews/pics to compare to others. The WG rinseless product appears to be surprisingly cost effective- in line with UWW, so I'll definitely try it after I use up my UWW.

Meguiars have a coating, Meguiars deep crystal coating M188, I don't know if sell it in US.

Somewhere out there in the world, there's a podcast where Jason Rose (I guess he's with Rupes or something now [?]) and Larry Kosilla are talking about the process of trying to figure out what attributes a U.S. Meg's coating should have. Apparently it's a matter of balancing what the average consumer thinks they want (beading, sheeting, etc.), and what the car really needs.

They also talk about the insane claims that some companies make for their coatings in Europe and Asia ("this coating is actual melted glass" etc.).

Pretty interesting.

Just heard Optimum is planning on releasing a paint prep wipe to help with coating bonding. (IPA Alternative)
anyone know anything about 3D/HD? We didn't hear anything about them.

Being that their new pads they've announced aren't even available for sale, I dunno how they can announce much more. No sense in announcing product you're not able to actually sell.

Mike Stoops indicated to us at TNOG that Meguiar's does not intend on launching a "Coating" to the U.S. Market

The product available in Asia is not available to Consumers

That sounds great! Anything to make applying a coating even easier is a win.

Did he give any specifics why not? Just curious

If I recall correctly; it basically had to do with putting a coating out to the general public, which has little knowledge of what proper prep is and how important it is.

Coatings would be a disaster if sold for $25 at WalMart
