SEMA 2014 Detailing Challenge - Official Video

Thanks to all those that participated.

A speed up version and behind the scenes will be posted on Monday.

It was fun to see the crowd that showed up for the event after the show hours. Too bad security wasn't in agreement. Looking forward to next year and moving to a conference room for more fun. Stay tuned .

What grit sandpaper scratch was being corrected and how many square inches of paint were each of the panels?

I think a good protocol would be to start at the same time. When one person gets to a finish they think is acceptable they stop. Everyone else stops and at that point everyone decides if they want to be judged right then or work some more. If people want to continue, they can, but if when they quit if the finish they've got beats the one who finished first, that person can continue, till they have taken the same amount of time as the person who took longer.

For me, it is about time and quality. There has to be a way to account for both.

Thanks,
Robert

We are looking at setting time requirements closer to real world applications. It's not often one spends more then 10 minutes on a 2x2 panel.

I also would like to see it baseline where all the tools are a identical match at least as far as all being rotary and one being all DA and then forced rotation. This, I think would be something fun to see.
