when you approach a customer you obviously try and sell the biggest package or try to get the most $. ive approached some potential customers for a clay 4step and interior for like 150 and some say its too much. so do any of you guys go for something less expensive like a w &w for 50.. what to do ?

I did a wash/wax, and a minor interior job (just dusted and treated all the dash stuff and vacuumed) for 60 bucks on some lady's car and she was real happy.

BTW, this is Cmr0z28 from CZ28.com, the guy that gave you the coupon code for the wolfgang stuff :up

oh thanks man but im talking about reeling them in for the big bucks what if they dont give what should be my recourse....

Go lower, but when you are there to do the lower job, really detail up a fender or something, and show them the difference, or point out trouble spots that the higher package will take care of. Be a Smoothhhh seller ;)

Hello,

Last summer I did a Toyota Camry that's really really bad. It took me 7 hours detailing by hand since I don't have a PC. I charged the owner 70 bucks since she's a friend of a friend of a friend who so what I did to her friend's car. I gave her a claying, AIO, SG, and used a Meg's High Tech Yellow wax, protection on vinyl and tires. She was really happy and I was happy because I made her happy. I told her to recommend me and bump up the price that I charged her. I also did my mother in laws Audi by hand and since it's brand new it only took me 4 hours and I used a P21S wax instead of the Meguire's. She gave me 60.00 bucks.

So, far right now I did a friends VW with my PC and it feels like a sand paper when I got it. I DACP, AIO, SG, Nxt (which was not a good idea, should have used the P21S), Mother's metal polished the wheels, protection on all the vinyle and tires. This one took me 13 hours. Whew! I did not get paid but he bought me some supplies about 60 bucks worth and I get to drive his car for a 2 15 minute lap around the racetrack. I also did my in-laws car again and took me 6 hours (since she never got it detailed since last summer). This weekend I have 2 more WRX lined up both silver and will be doing them for free. I told my friends that since I have know them for a long time and they also do favors for me to recommend me and my price starts about $70.00 depending on the car's condition and size. For my friends I told them I just needed a donation to pay for my water bill and to get my dual suspension bike repaired since I broke this winter doing a 5 foot drop on ledges. Hopefully, there will be $$$ coming in soon.

With my regular customers, I keep track of when I last waxed their vehicle and also let them know when detailing the interior would be a good idea (although they usually know!). With new customers, I go over the options, such as multi-step polishing, sealants vs. carnaubas, etc. It helps that I carry my photo album in my car so I can show them examples of my work.

Man, I should start getting my portfolio together.

I got the idea from a customer of mine who owned a custom fence and deck company. He took pictures of his work and said I should do the same since I have some high end clients. Turned out to be excellent advice!
