hi. i just finished washing and QDing my truck. she's looking great. :bounce however, because the Gold Class is starting to go, i'm interested in using something else. the truck is outside 24/7 and i'd really like to try something non-carnauba. what sealants/polymers are available through retail stores like pepboys, napa, etc? no way would dad let me purchase online, and sending checks through the mail kinda suck. any help on the issue would be great.

Meguiar's #20, locally available at NAPA (ask for it.)

You can call up Zaino and see if they have a local distributer. I found one very close to me. I've been there 4 times now and spent like over $180.

Klasse and Lexol may be found at some BMW and MB dealerships.

I think I saw Lexol at my local Pepboys too.

thanks a bunch. i did a search here on "meguiar's sealant" and some of those posts were confusing. i'm still a newbie. anyways, i've seen Meguiar's #20 in autozone. I've seen Lexol in pepboys. Which one is the most durable? and they layer, am i correct? also, which produces the deepest, wettest shine? thanks. i'll keep searching here for stuff.

To the best of my knowledge, if you use Zaino stick with Zaino.

If you find Klasse go for it. If you find Zaino sure.

Klasse and Zaino are along the same lines for me. Durable, has their own unique shine, and will provide great results.

Meguiar's #20 falls in behind Klasse and Zaino. Meguiar's #20 has mild cleaners in it, so layering might not be "layering." You'll still layer it, but not get the full layering factor of a non cleaning sealant such as Zaino or Klasse SG.

The most important step to having a car shine is paint prep. Make sure all swirls are removed (well most in some cases), all contaminates are removed, and oxidation are removed. Then put on a sealant such as Meguiars #20, Klasse, or Zaino to protect the finish.

I'm sorry not to mention this but I mean't the Lexol line of interior protectants, such as their Leather Cleaner, Leather Conditioner, and my favorite the Lexol Binylex (Rubber, vinyl and plastic protectant.)

yeah. i went to the lexol site. i was confused for a little while (summer break) but after a while i figured it out. the only over the counter polymers i know of is #20, so i think i'll try that. i've been working with meguiar's for everything for a while, so i'll stick with that company. maybe i'll try the better stuff when i get a credit card or something. who knows? anyways, thanks a lot. you were really helpful.
