Are sealants or any particular carnubas bad for paint that doesn't have a coat of clear applied to it?

I have KSG, EX-P, and DP Maxwax to use and of course just the other the counter Gold Class Paste and Turtle wax Ultra Gloss Paste.

I don't want it to do something to the paint where I won't be able to remove it. I'm thinking of just sticking to the DP.

To the contrary they are good on single stage paint...I cut my teeth back in the days are SS paint....polish to remove any oxdadtion, seal, paste wax or both with a 24 hour period for the sealant to cure before laying down the paste wax

The thing is the entire vehicle has been buffed and polished. It is an older truck that was restored. A few spots like the tailgate were just recently painted within the last week, but the rest has been painted for a few yrs it's just that we know got it back together and had it all buffed out to match and I was going to put a coat of wax on it and wondered if I was going to run into something happen where I couldnt get the wax off.

Now that I think about it aren't you supposed to wait before you wax freshly painted pieces? So doesn't that mean I should wait to wax the tailgate.

I think I'm just gonna use the DP and not worry about putting a sealant on it.

ON the fresh painted areas you have to let that cure...90 days is a safe bet but ask the body shop what they suggest...the rest of the paint a good wax will do just fine the ones that you have are just fine..work in small panels at a time to make sure that you are getting the results that you like....

I'm curious is this single stage paint or clear coated...I ask that only because it was just repainted
and most new paint jobs are CC that not saying this one isn't

this wasn't done at a body shop it was restored by a private guy and he doesn't use clear coat so it's just the paint

OK got it...proceed with just the paste wax if that is the case...expect the new painted areas...you can use a glaze on those if you want

Also the term for non-clear coated paint is Single Stage paint

For Clear Coated its base coat (color) clear coat
