Sealant on wheel covers

This is continued from my last thread, I never got that hazing out. I tried SMR with a foam pad on a random orbit type buffer I had. ( Was too cheap to get the PC ) Still no luck, I used a foam pad, then moved up to a wool pad, still hazing. Then I tried Z1x1 + Z5x2 to see if I can get a gloss back, no luck.

BTW, if you guys don't remember, the hazing was done by a so called pro detailer that I presume used a very abbrasive compound to buff out some swirls I had. Now, I am out of options, any suggestions before I decide to take it to get repainted, maybe have the tailgate handle shaved while im at it.

You can try more aggresive than smr like 3m FI-II or such.

there was a thread where brad replied to some ones questions about which products to use with the PC it was like 1-3 days ago.

My memory is fading but it was pretty good and brad listed what he uses.

I did try the FI-2, and followed with the SMR afterwards. I think they guy went to deep, there is no glossyness left. I compare it to a matte print, and a glossy print. The rest of my truck is glossy, after I used FI-2 w/ SMR + Zaino Z5x2. The tailgate is really dull. Maybe I need pro help.

Just got off the phone with Sal, and told him my problem. It seems to him that the orginal detailer might of burned through the clear coat. He stated that 2 coats of Z5 should take care of any hazing. So it makes me think its not even hazing anymore. He suggested to me to keep trying the SMR if there is no luck, then I will have to just live with it I guess.

BTW, any members in the SoCal area want to give a try at my tailgate? You will be compensated for your time. This is because I feel the members on this forum are more knowledgeable than that detailer I brought it to.

Indeed, if the "pro" detailer went through the clear he is responsible for the damage he did to your clearcoat. Don't spend your hard earned money to fix his screwup. Call him and demand he pay for the damage, if he won't tell him you'll see him in court.
