Sealant for a brand new car.

I have always used, clay bar, 2 different grade polishes then a top coat of wax. I have never used a sealant. I am about to get a brand new car and am looking at trying a sealant. Is there a better sealant than others for a brand new car?

i still plan to clay bar, fine polish and then apply a sealant. With so may choices of sealants I was wondering if one sealant is better than others for a nearly perfect paint (new).

i have heard about cquartz, opti-coat, 22ple plus many others. I have always been an Adams guy but I am looking at the best sealant. I am looking for the highest gloss with a good protection. It will be in a garage and covered at work so don't need as much protection, want more for gloss effect.

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Car Pro/CQuartz offers RELOAD and Hydro 2 , Optimum has Opti Seal, and 22ple has VS1 as Sealants. These companies also offer Coatings which are different from sealants.
Menzerna Powerlock is another popular one as is Ultima Paint Guard Plus. I use Klaase SG in conjuntion with Klaase AIO.

Can you give us specifics about the car and color you will be sealing and your expectations besides longevity?

IMO, you can't have too much protection for your finish, you do have to drive it and it will be exposed to the elements and contaimanents.

Thanks.

You might want to take a look at 3M Poxy. It is kind of like a Hybrid sealant- part sealant part wax. It gives very decent protection and looks great.

I got a 2015 Corvette in Daytona Sunrise Orange. I am looking for the best gloss! Don't care if it doesn't last that long because I love to detail my car!

You are going to get a lot of recommendations on sealants. There are so many good ones and you can't really go wrong with any of them. Have you considered a coating?

Some of my personal favorite sealants

Meguiar's M21
Meguiar's Ultimate Wax (don't let the name wax fool you. This indeed a sealant)
Detailer's Pro Poli-Coat
Mothers California Gold Synthetic Wax

Yes I have used some of the Meguiars and a lot of Adams polishs. Thanks for the suggestions!

it's far more about the procedure and tools you use vs the mfr of sealant - PM me for my docs I've written specifically for the vette/new car....about 75 have used this on the corvetteforum...

By far if you've got the money, have a detailer put on Opti coat pro or Cquartz finest...a killler program but >$800 or so....

Cheaper DIY
I recommend the easiest way I've found to do this - the basic steps are:
1. wash and clay
2. orbital with a finishing polish, like Meguires 205 or Blackfire Total polish and seal
3. follow with a sealant - Like power lock, BF wet diamond or Adam's Machine sealant.
4. top with a spray WOWA product.- like Ultima Paint guard or Blackfire Crystal seal

personally I think there is synergy staying with one mfr when layering, so for me it all blackfire stuff

from then on it's 30 min every 2-3 months.... that's it!! here's one done by hand, no orbital:

evil pumpkin- As you can see, everyone has their fave. Me too, and I have a shelf full of also-rans.

IMO it's a fine line between "sealant" and "wax" and some sealants I've used didn't last as long as some waxes (nor did they protect as well against stuff like bird bombs). Eh, to me "sealant" just means "synthetic wax".

That said, these days most of my vehicles wear FK1000P, a paste-type sealant/synthetic wax. It protects so well that I no longer clean off bird bombs between washes and I do not get etching from bugs. It lasts many months even on a daily driver and it sheds dirt quite readily during the wash. Some might not care for its look, at least on certain colors, but from a functional standpoint IMO it's the next best thing to a coating.

Now that's what I call a new car! Wow!! Love the color.

I would say for synth sealants, you could not go wrong with either the Blackfire, or Wolfgang lines.

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 is another outstanding Sealant which I see hasn't been mentioned yet, gives an extremely dripping wet glassy candy apple coated look. And it is so easy to apply, and remove, comes off so effortlessly, and comes off perfectly clean. You'll also love the feel, the paint will feel slick, and feel nicely protected, not a "thin shell feeling" to this product, the paint feels "fed".

Wolfgang Fuzion Paste would be another great choice, a Hybrid, can be used in combination with the Sealant I just mentioned, or stand alone.
A friend of mine, Ivan on audio aficionado (Master Lu) says he's addicted to Fuzion, and I'm quite certain he has his personal detailer apply it to his Ferarri 458 Italia.

Polishangel cosmic with color adaptation. Do a litle research to see if this is what you want in your car. There are some threads here in autogeek.

Another vote for Blackfire. Wet Diamond is expensive, but a little goes a long way. Top with Crystal Seal after curing 12-24 hours. Really nice glassy gloss (see my avatar, that is WD + CS)
