Sealant durability, after applying a AIO.

I had a random thought on durability..



Since stand alone durabilty of BFWD or any good sealant is close to six month(est.) and stand alone durability of Blackfire TPnS is close to 2 to 3 month or so, would layering a coat of sealant on top of the TPnS decrease the sealants durability?

So the question is when layer the bottom layer is less durable than top layer what effect will that have on a sealant or wax...hmmm

Layering any LSP that increases overall thickness of the product and can increase the longevity / durability of it's life, with in reason. The second and third coats really help you to get a more even coverage and a higher shine, at least that's what I viewed on my jet black car.

It's that old saying that "if one is good two or three should be better"

I wouldn't go so far as to think that if one coat lasts two months that two coats would last four months, etc. I would say that it will increase protection.

don't be afraid to layer some wax over the sealant too. waxes other than bfms may not last as long, but i love the added depth they give.
 
Yeah, I've found using a good carnauba wax on top of an AIO adds a lot of shine and slickness. I'd stay away from using any kind of sealant type waxes because they don't always stick good. Some nubas are made to go over sealants, and those are the ones you want.
 
I went ahead and did winter prep on one car. Went BF TPnS and BFWD, this weekend I will layer a coat of the new Pinnacle Souveran.
