Sealant/Carnauba order

I know it is always recommended that carnaubas go over sealants, not the other way around, and that sealants cannot be used over glazes. However, some people have fine results with particular sealants over particular glazes. Also, certain manufacturers say it is okay to layer sealant over carnauba or glaze with no problems...like Finish Kare and Chemical Guys (look at the first bullet). And if a product like CG TopCoat or PB EX (a sealant w/carnauba) can be layered over itself, why can't sealants in general be layered over carnaubas? Discuss your thoughts on this please...

Sealants usually "bond", or attempt to "bond", to the clearcoat\paint. If you put a glaze\wax over the clearcoat\paint, before the sealant, the fillers or oils in the glaze\wax, may interfere with the bonding of the sealants. The sealant most likely would wash off as fast as the glaze\wax does. Also, some companies call a sealant a glaze, as in Klasse SG (Sealant Glaze). So it gets very confusing for a newbie.

Well said.

You can put anything over anything. It just won't last as long as you would hope. If you plan on applying a fresh layer of product often, it shouldn't be a big deal.
