Scratches on chrome wheels

Ah, I sorta figured that Viper leads a somewhat pampered life :) It shows- very, very clean ride you have there.

Even doing it every 2-3 days (heh heh, opposite end of spectrum from yours truly :o ), you're quick to be able to do it that fast; I'd probably spend that long just going around the lug nuts! Your wheels *do* look like they give you enough room to reach the inside/backs pretty easily though, and that must help a lot.[/QUOTE]

the area around the lug nutts on my rims is actually very easy to reach....

My hand and forearm easily fits through the front of the rim making cleaning the inner barrel very easy.. i even pass the towel between the rim and the caliper but it is a tight squeeze

jb1 if your car is a garage queen then there is no need to wash it with water, just seal the paint , chrome, add one layer of wax and use the fk1 quick detailer.. you can do the detailer in about 30 minutes once you get your technique down , i even do all the paint even under the car,, i also have a clear bra on the front and whole side which makes cleaning with the detailer a breeze

Guys, thanks a bunch for all the helpful tips. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and advice.

Yeah, you have a lot more room in both those areas that I have on some of my vehicles. Combine that with what mine get put through, and I guess it's no surprise that you and I have different wheel cleaning experiences :D

Heh heh, even my Jag gets rained on from time to time...and it's even been caught in a few snowstorms too :bawling: Only car I ever kept 100% perfect was my C5 and even it got rained on once when we took it on a long trip.

this is my only car that sees rain, just detailed it yesterday tho i don't bother cleaning the inner barrel on the rims on this car

Heh heh, I get a kick out of how differently you and I are approaching this stuff :D

Other than the RX-7 (long story, collector's show-toy I got from a fanatic and have never even driven) all my stuff ends up getting used quite hard, but I *do* do the barrels/etc. on all of them, even keep the undercarriages detailed throughout Ohio winters :o

Yeah..I guess that in my way I'm just as nutty as anybody here; I simply treat 'em all the same when it comes to the detailing..from the minivan to the Jag they're are kept in just about the same shape. I actually get a bigger kick out of having a near-concours minivan just because nobody expects it :chuckle:
