Scratches in clearcoated wheels...

I tried a search and couldn't find anything.



I recently bought a set of 02 WS6 wheels for my Firehawk and they are a bit scratched. What do you guys use to remove scratches from clearcoated wheels? I have some CG Diamond cut 1500 compound as well as some Pro Polish that I was thinking about applying by hand to get out some of the scratches.

Does anyone ever notice that the clear on wheels is more durable than on the rest of the vehicle? I'b bet it's manufactured slightly different because of the environment?
 
If the scratches are on the face of the wheels, use your rotary or orbital and polish it just as you would your paint. If it's in on the spokes or the inner part of the wheel, then get a power ball.
