scratches from MF products

I seem to be getting very fine scratching -- almost misty, hazy in appearance when using MF towels or applicators.

Anyone else had this experience?

What puzzles me a bit is that we are all fanatical about never letting polyester touch our cars, yet we have so readily accepted MF, which I understand is polyester.

I am using the MF towels from CMA -- forget the exact name. I use the finest one on the car. BMW black black black

whoa, those should not scratch.

is it blue? does it come with a label? is the stitching a slightly darker blue color then the towel?

do you wash it frequently?

does it feel rough?

I guess try a cd test

What do you have on your car? Klasse AIO? SG? Zaino? You might be seeing marring in that, not the paint. I find that it often looks like how you described on black beauty's.

I think it's the oils in the Blitz, outher members of the forum have had the same problem with carnauba waxes on top of a sealant product. Try a QD spray or wash the car, the haze should disappear after the first wash, i think.

Another case of the mysterious Klasse Haze! :scared

My personal experience was that I could get rid of it temporarily with some QD on an MF bonnet with the PC.....only to return after the next wash. I had this happen on two different cars, with and without wax topper. I know many die hard Klasse users have never had this, but I couldn't find a way to get rid of it without stripping it off and using Blackfire or Zaino.... :nixweiss I live in Florida and the humidity was consistently high which may have been the cause.

It's gotta be the sealant. My Vette's clearcoat is notoriously soft, but I've used both the blue and green MF towels that Steve sells (I understand that the CMA MFs are similar) and have never had ANY marring or hazing. MF rocks! Believe the hype!

If your CMA towels are the same as mine, my blue are the plushest (the famous Miracle Towel), the yellow is the glass cloth and is similar to the Miracle (pretty plush), but the fibers are split at the end (the Miracle Towel's are looped). The green is for grungy work and are the least plush of the 3. If it doesn't say Miracle Towel (or possible Magic Towel) on the label, then it's not the plushest that CMA offers.

I can't really speak for anyone else, but, in my case, my yellow MFs are the coarsest towels (got 'em at Target) and are used only for glass and stuff, my blue YoSteve towels are very plush (I thought these were the same as the CMA Miracle Towels but I could be wrong), and the new YoSteve green MFs are even more plush than the blue ones.

I guess the only comparison we can draw from this is that color alone is not a valid way to compare MFs -- we gotta know where they come from, too. :nixweiss
