Scratch X sucks!

Ryan314, is it the product, or is it you? I outlined the procedure for successful use of the product, others have written that it works as I described, and I went out and used it and took a picture of a ScratchX'd area next to a non-ScratchX'd area that, in my eyes, actually shows a reduction in swirls.

So what is it that is misleading? Please tell me.

Mike Phillips over at Meguiars has a nice write-up on removing defects by hand with ScratchX. Here's the link, and hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by directing people to the Meguiar's online forum for this info. BTW, Mike's technique uses a foam applicator ... as Tom found out, foam's the way to go :)

Also, with scratchX, you need to use about 4 applications on 1 spot to have enough effectiveness. It's a great product for spot repair.

That's the trade for using it safely by hand.
