Scratch X over SG

I tried some Scratch X on a small section of my hood last night to see what it did for the swirls/scratches. This is after AIO and 1 coat of SG I applied 3 days ago. The SX didn’t really work worth a damn. I figured the ScratchX would remove the layer of SG and do its job. Am I wrong? Should I remove the SG with something else before trying the ScratchX?

You should use any SMR on a clean wax/polymer free dry surface.



Just out of interest isn't the usual methodology clean-polish and then a wax/sealant?

That's correct I believe, but I was not sure if the ScratchX would remove the SG or not. If not, then it's no wonder it didn't remove any scratches. Would 1 coat of AIO be sufficient in removing the SG so that I can apply a polish such as ScratchX? Thanks.

Any abrasive, including, ScratchX, should remove any sealant you have. So should any paint cleaner. AIO will work, but the problem is that it leaves a little acrylic protection behind, so that your surface is not bare paint.
