Scratch repair with the rotary!!!

Hi everyone. My friend had someone rub his bumper on his 2001 Camry. It looked pretty bad. But, my metabo rotary combined with an Edge 2000 orange pad and Optimum compound, followed up with the blue pad and Optimum Polish helped create a much improved look to the bumper in 20 minutes. I could of cut the clear even more to help further remove the scratches, but I prefer not to cut the clearocat that much. My friend was much happier with the look either way. The corrections were followed-up with AIO, rmg, and collinite 476S to try to get as much filling possible to further enhance the improvement in the paint. Enjoy the pics:

Yeah, I had that done to my rear bumper recently. It was a hit and run in a aprking lot.:hm I took some 1200 sandpaper and wetsanded it and then took 3M heavy duty rubbing compound to it. I finished that off with 3M Imperial microfinishing compound. I completely removed any trace of the damage.

At any rate, you did a great job.

Good grief, and I was worried! That is more severe than anything on my truck, except for oxidation!

You really did a stellar job! Congratulations.

Thanks everyone for the comments, especially the last one! Very funny but no, it was not repainted, just rotary power and patience. And yes, it was done at a gas station because in college it is difficult to find power outlets available.:xyxthumbs

Do you work at the gas station? I'm just wondering how you got to use their power? It looks as if you did a complete detail judging by all the supplies seen in the reflection.

Great job btw!

Good guess clnfrk, but the reason why I have all of my detailing supplies spread-out was because I just got back to VA for college, and I had yet to empty out the trunk full of detailing supplies. I did not fully detail the vehicle, just this piece I took a picture of. One time I saw somebody else use their power source, so I went inside and asked if I could use it too, and the employee said sure! Thanks for the compliments as well

ROTARY FOR THE WIN!

After getting used to a rotary at work, I find it ridiculously tedious to use my PC now.
