scratch on windshield

my brother was cleaning his windows at a gas station and to get a bug off he tilted the cleaner thing and scraped it. the metal dug i nice scratch in the windshield. the car is brand new so it really stands out. where do i start?

IF you have a Porter Cable, I would start there with some Medium abrasive polish...this will only do a little though. The next step is the Diamondite Glass polishing system. You can get it for $30 or so here at Premium Auto Care (don't forget your 10% DC discount). This will actually remove SOME glass, but I hear the results are great!!

I've had pretty good success using this kit with a PC on hazy windshields and minor pitting.

If you can feel the scrape with your fingernail then I fear the real fix will be replacement. Good Luck!
